Skeinhead is a place where everyone weird & wonderful are welcome! Because there’s nothing more punk than kindness, inclusivity and acceptance!

Skeinhead started from a seed of an idea at an Iron Maiden concert back in 2018, where the knitting pun of merging the words 'skein' and 'skinhead' was born! With a love of yarn and DIY subcultures of music (punk, skinhead, mod, rude boy & thrash in particular), Skeinhead was created to house pun & fun merchandise for knitters, crocheters and fibre artists and to fill the niche of punks who love all things yarn!

Our little team is a proper power trio - a pair of twins and our best mate, trying to create something new and exciting in the yarn world. I'm Mickie, the twin who is the knitter, my sister India who is the illustrator & designer, and Paul our best pal who is the digital & tech wizard! In the last two years, we've grown Skeinhead to become international and we are proud to have a wide spectrum of collections & clothing size ranges, so everyone feels welcome and included.

In that time, we've had many ranges, including Knit And Purl Can Change The World, Philomena and Skein Austen, all created to raise money for charity to help those in need, with a percentange of every sale going to charity. We are very honoured to have been able to donate so far to OCD UK, Mind, the Jane Austen House Museum, Blackberry Guinea Pig Rescue and we can't wait to make more designs to raise more cash for more charities in the future!
